Our time in 2009

2008 was an amazing year for Democrats across the nation... and yes even in Utah. We watched a few Democrats get re-elected like Peter Corroon and Jim Matheson and a good number of newly elected Democrats like Luz Robels, Laura Black and Jay Seegmiller. Even though Obama did not win the state, he did have the best showing for a Democrat in Utah since Hubert Humprey in 1968.


2008 was also an exciting year for the Young Democrats of Utah as we hired a full time Executive Director, were featured on CNN and ran a successful young voter campaign.

As the new YDU President along with a great new board, we are excited to help continue to push the momentum forward in 2009. With this year being an off election year, we are going to concentrate on building a stronger foundation, not only in numbers but also in regional chapters through out the state.
